Agnes H. Lacock

Agnes H. Lacock, 102, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at St. Marys Manor.

She was born January 25, 1911 at St. Marys, the daughter of Carl F. and Alma Brown Carlson. Agnes grew up in the St. Marys community and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1928.

Mrs. Lacock had worked at the Mission Motel, Mr. D’s and later for Simecka’s Hy-Klas all in St. Marys. She was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church, Hoy-Heim American Legion Auxiliary; St. Marys Senior Center where she was a past board member and a life member of Arthur Chapter of the OES.

On February 4, 1934 she was united in marriage to Frank L. Lacock at Topeka. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1954. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Roy Carlson and two sisters Evelyn Fields and Adena Fields.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis “Butch” (Judy) Lacock, Lawrence and Mike Lacock, St. Marys.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Piper Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery, St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marys Senior Center and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St, St. Marys, KS. 66536.

    I will always remember her kind gentle manner. She will be deeply missed.

  2. Aggie was a neat lady. She babysat for us several times in the ’80’s, and I quilted with her at the Methodist Church until she turned 90 and said she could retire. Her long life will be remembered by many. I’m sorry we won’t be able to attend the funeral.
