http://St. Marys—Joseph F. Mulford, 78, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
Joe was born May 22, 1940 to Lester and Mildred Aubert Mulford in St. Marys. He graduated from Emmett High School. Joe retired from the Kansas National Guard.
He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of K of C Council No. 657 in St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by his parents younger brother, Marvin; a son-in-law Keith Brownell.
On June 20, 1964 he was united in marriage to Minnie McAlexander at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett. She survives
Other survivors include his twin daughters. Patty (Don) Pearl, St. Marys and Terry Brownell, Bellefonte, PA; sons, Joseph (Mindy) Mulford, Topeka, Mark Mulford, Topeka and Matthew (Judy) Mulford, Lawrence. He was “Grandpa” Joe to 9 grandkids and 17 great-grandkids with one on the way. He will be missed by many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Joe will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday January 10, 2019 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys, where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
