Katsuyo “Kay” Ginter

Eskridge-Katsuyo “Kay” Ginter 70, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

She was born July 31, 1943 at Sasebo, Japan, the daughter of Tatsuji and Shitshu Ishida. Kay grew up in Japan and graduated from high school there. She was a daycare provider in her home at Eskridge for many years.

On January 5, 1970 she was united in marriage to Harold “Bud” Ginter in Tokyo.  He preceded her in death on October 1, 1982.

Survivors include her son, Rick Ginter, Olpe; four sisters, Yoshiko Smith, in Virginia, Masayo Engel, in WI, Michiko Inoue, Saitama, Japan and Hideko Tamaru, Sasebo Japan; two grandchildren, Trevin Ginter and Shaylee Ginter, Olpe.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Dover Federated Church.  Interment will be in the Dover Cemetery.  Mrs. Ginter will lie in state from 6:00 until 7:30 Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Piper Funeral Chapel of Eskridge, 201 E 2nd Ave.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mazie’s Pool and sent in care of Piper Funeral Chapel, P.O.   3. Rick and family, I was so sorry to hear about Kay she was such a sweet lady. I just saw her recently at Dillions and we had such a nice visit. She always talked about her family and how proud she was of all of you. She will be missed.

    being Kay’s income tax preparer at H & R Block for a number of years.
    Kay was always so cheerful and an extreme pleasure to be around. I
    will truly miss our annual get-to-gether.
