Levi William Bishop, 24, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in St. Marys.

He was born June 15, 1989 at Onaga, the son of Rick and Sandy VanDeWiele Bishop.

He grew up in the Emmett, Rossville and St. Marys communities.  Levi graduated from Rossville High School in 2008. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia Joyce and a great-grandmother, Phyllis Gleason.

Survivors include his father, Rick Bishop, Rossville; his mother, Sandy (Scott Swisher) VanDeWiele, St. Marys; sisters, Bailey, Jessie and Jamie; step-sisters, Kendra and Katie; step-brothers, Jeff and Cody; grandparents, Glen and Sharon Bishop, Rossville and great grandfather, Harold Gleason, Maple Hill.

Memorial services will be at 5:00 P.M.Monday, January 6, 2014 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys.  Inurnment will be at a later date at the KeeneCemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home Monday afternoon.  Memorial contributions may be made to help offset funeral expenses and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St, St. Marys, KS. 66536.

    me the blessing of knowing and loving this beautilful young man. my heart aches as I know yours does greatly also but know that Levi loved us and would not want us to be sad.   11. I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear Levi. So young with so much to look forward to. May the God of comfort give you all you need at this time. No doubt you feel as Gods word does when it calls death an enemy. But how comforting that this same scripture tells us this enemy will also be done away with. (1Corinthians 15:26) I hope you can hold on to the promise that God has set before us all of being reuninted with our lost ones here on a restored paradise earth. Again I am so very sorry for your loss.
