Loreine A. Kincaid

Loreine A. Kincaid, 90, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the St. Marys Manor.

She was born September 13, 1926 at Topeka, the daughter of Albert Benedict and Amelia Clara Umscheid Weltsch.  Loreine attended State Street Grade School, Holliday Jr. High School and graduated from Capitol Catholic High School in 1944.

Loreine was employed at Topeka Steam Boiler Works for eight years.  She and her husband Colton owned and operated Kincaid Truck Lines for 34 years.  Mrs. Kincaid also worked at the Rezac Sale Barn restaurant and was the manager of the St. Mary Senior Apartments from 1992 until she retired in 2010.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hoy Heim No. 178 American Legion Auxiliary and the St. Marys Senior Center.

She was married to Colton F. Kincaid Jr. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka on November 8, 1947.  He preceded her in death on August 7, 1980.  She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jayme Nicole Kincaid on March 11, 1985, a brother Loren O. Weltsch  and a sister, Dorothy Benaka.

Survivors include four sons, Richard D. (Lynn) Kincaid, Wamego, Ronald L. (Carol) Kincaid, Olsburg, Randy C. (Jane) Kincaid, St. Marys and Russell S. (Jacqueline) Kincaid, Silver Lake; five grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren,

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys.  Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, St. Marys.  Mrs. Kincaid will lie in state after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, January17, 2017 at Piper Funeral Home where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M.     My sympathy to all of you. I have many memories of Aunt Loreine and Uncle Junior especially at Chrismas time in the “big house” . Also great memories of sledding with all the boys and your mom fixing us hot chocolate when we came in with red cheeks and frozen hands.

  9. Sorry for your loss. We knew Loreine as “Lola”… as she was a wonderful manager of the senior apartments there in St. Marys, and a friend to my mother Sarah. She was such a fireball of energy and humor…she will be missed by all. To her family; what a loving mother and grandmother she was…. she loved you more than anything else.
