  1. Jerry and Lorna,
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. We and our son remember him from when you lived in Scottsdale and we were in Mesa. Our prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

  2. Dear Jerry and Lorna,
So sorry to hear about your son. H and I lost Quint 10-25-2012. He was 46. It is so hard when your child goes before you. We find peace in knowing we will be in heaven together. Don’t know if you heard, H passed away from cancer 5-13-14. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely Louise

    • What a shock. We wonder about you all the time and had no idea about your son or H. We knew we would be losing Mark and there may be some peace in that but was sooner than we wanted to him go.
So sorry for your losses. Would love to have you send us a direct email so we can communicate. Jerry said he thought you were I the YC area.

  3. I went on the same People to People Ambassador program as Mark. We became friends on that trip and I have quite a few memories of our newly-formed friendship. One of the most poignant memories I have of the trip is a particular outing in China. I was haggling with a vendor over the price of a beautiful little cloisonne horse and became frustrated when he wouldn’t come down and walked away to get on the bus. Mark came a short while after, smiling, and later presented me with the same cloisonne horse. Even though he said he had been able to get the vendor to come down on it, I knew that he had just bought it for the price I would not. He was so sweet like that; always doing nice things for people. I still have that horse to this day and it’s a constant reminder of the friendship I will always treasure.

    • Mark laughed and talked about your trip so many times. He spoke often about your family and how much you all meant to him. Of all his friends you were the one he spoke about most of the time and the only one he would allow me to tell of his condition these past few years. God Bless!

  8. Mark I can’t believe this is goodbye until we see each other again in heaven. I will always remember how you loved my home made tacos. You could always put a smile on our faces. J.D. loves you so much, you were his favorite uncle. He loved chopping wood for the fireplace with you. He loves his Mark Twain book you gave him in 2006. One of his greatest memories was you and him going to see your horse and giving her carrots. I will miss you dearly and miss the fun times and get together while we waited for you to get your camera out to capture the moments as we all waited patiently to eat. We will always keep your memory alive. R.i.p. sweet Mark we love you. J.d. newby and Tami henninge
