  1. i was so lucky to have a friend like maude. she was the first neighbor i met when we moved here in 91. i always enjoyed her visits and we would enjoy a “short coke” together. she raised a fine family. it had to be very hard for them to see her failing. it was for me. i will do my best to always remember her at her best.

  2. Maude was always smiling when you saw her and so energetic. My Dad Jim shared many phone conversations checking on the weather and concerns of the neighborhood. She was a great cook, worked hard at making the 4-H a success and helped develop programs to make kids more involved in meaningful activities. She was very involved in her Eastern Star chapter too. We will miss her. Her family was always very important to her and what your time spent together meant . I am sorry for your loss.

  3. I was so sorry to hear of Maude’s passing. Mom ( Betty Sherretts Diaz) didn’t have a lot of friends and she really enjoyed Maude a lot. They even went on a few trips together when they were young. I always wanted to learn how to make Maudie’s gooseberry pie…I hope someone in the family learned from her and has the recipe. I always remember her laughing and smiling and willing to help anyone…….they just don’t come much better. I’m sorry for your loss….but also realize we got lucky to have someone like her in our lives. She will be missed.
