Alfred Pedersen

On this day December 30, 2019 Al Pedersen went to meet his maker.  He prayed for mercy.  Al was born on March 28, 1940 in Jersey City, NJ. to Edward and Ruby (Eaton) Pedersen.  He grew up in Jackson, NJ (the pine barons).  He married Lettie Lee Hamblet of Sarasota, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.  Al and Lettie raised four children.  Al was in the US Navy for six years, received a college degree and worked for GE for 15 years; he mentored managers for about 17 years.  Al made visits to men who were invalids.  He enjoyed hunting ruffed grouse.  He asked, “Please say one Hail Mary.”  Al leaves behind his wife Lettie Lee, of the home; his children Peri Ann Denke (Paul), Lisa Beth Murphy (James), Christopher Edward Pedersen, and Inger Marie Awerkamp (Bobby); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will be missed.  A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 7:15 A.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Assumption Chapel in St. Marys.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Marys.  Mr. Pedersen will lie in state Friday, January 3, 2020 at Piper Funeral Home from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. followed by a rosary at 5:20 P.M. at Assumption Chapel.
