Benjamin Caindec Querubin, born on January 2, 1928, passed away in St. Mary's, Kansas on April 14, 2025 at the age of 97. His departure leaves a significant void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Benjamin lived a life filled with love, kindness, and countless cherished moments. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Eileen and Janelle Querubin, and his son Benjamin N. Querubin. His legacy extends to his grandchildren, including Gabriel Querubin, Chase Tobias, Kaya, Ayja & Isaiah Querubin, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Additionally, he enjoyed the daily comfort and companionship of three cherished dogs and one cat whom he considered family.
Throughout his years, Benjamin developed a variety of interests that enriched his life. He had a particular fondness for chocolate, delighting in a daily treat, with a singular Hershey's kiss being his favorite indulgence. A passionate reader, he loved immersing himself in literature and philosophy, even memorizing and reciting poignant poems like "Thanatopsis" from memory. His mind remained perspicacious, astute and keen, with great interest in current events and politics. Music filled his days, and he was known to be a dreamer, often visualizing fortunes through lottery tickets. His unwavering support for the Golden State Warriors showcased his enthusiasm for sports, making him an ardent fan of the game.
Benjamin's brothers and sisters included: Faye Q. De Vera, Samuel Querubin, Rudolfo Querubin, Estrella Q. Tremor, and Florante Querubin. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Silvino Querubin and Juana C. Querubin, as well as his sister Dionisia who died at childbirth.
Benjamin Caindec Querubin will be remembered for his joyful spirit, genuine compassion, and the love he shared with those around him.
The family invites friends and loved ones to pray for the repose of Benjamin's soul with a Rosary service on April 21, 2025, at 3:20 PM (Pacific Time)/5:20 PM (Central Time) at Immaculata Catholic Church, followed by a Mass on April 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM (Pacific Time)/11:00 AM (Central Time), and his burial at Our Lady Of Peace Cemetery at 12:15 PM (Central Time) the same day. A reception will follow at St. Joseph's hall.
The family suggests memorial contributions to The Immaculata Church and may be sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys KS 66536.
