Carl H. Grieshaber, 93, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Community Hospital in St. Marys. He was born on the family farm near Belvue on November 7, 1919, the son of William and Caroline Treiber Grieshaber. Carl grew up on the farm and graduated from Paxico High School. Mr. Grieshaber was a farmer. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657. Carl had served on the church finance council and had been a Director for REA. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister. A grandson, Michael Sol preceded him in death on December 17, 2011. On October 9, 1943 he was united in marriage to Veronica Mininhan at Kansas City. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Tom (Nancy) Grieshaber, Manhattan; two daughters, Marcia (Joe) Mainey, Manhattan and Nancy Andrick, Johnson City, TN; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Grieshaber will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday December 2, 2012 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where there will be a rosary recited at 6:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Youth Programs and sent in care of the funeral home.
