Carole Mikos

Eskridge—Carole J. Mikos, 78, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the Kelly House in Topeka.

She was born June 12, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA.  She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, PA. she also graduated from Washburn University in Topeka.

Carole was an English Teacher and had taught at Crane, Roosevelt, and Bosworth Jr. High Schools in Topeka.  She also taught at Dover, Eskridge, and Mission Valley High Schools.  Carole was an active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Eskridge until it was closed, then she became a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Rose Marie Kelly, two step-brothers, Dennis and Patrick Kelly.

On August 17, 1968, Carole married Michael G. Mikos at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka; Carole and Mike shared over 52 years of marriage.  He survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Leslie M. Mikos, Udall, Kansas, and Terri Conway in Texas; two sisters, Nadine Barnhill and Donna Manieri-Medford, Topeka; a step-brother, Laird Kelly, New York and; 5 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka, with a rosary recited at 9:30 A.M. before the mass.  Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Topeka.  Carole will lie in state, and the family will receive friends on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
