Cheryl Warner

December 19, 1943 — January 3, 2022

Cheryl A. Warner, 78, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at her Lake Wabaunsee home.

She was born December 19, 1943, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Al and Maxine McCall Mize. Cheryl grew up in Topeka and graduated from Highland Park High School. She attended Washburn University where she met her future husband, Harold. After their marriage they moved to Valley Center, Kansas and she graduated from Wichita State University.

Cheryl taught art and photography and was the girls tennis coach at Valley Center High School. Cheryl and Dorothy McKay were the owners of Regency Travel Agency in Wichita. She and Harold were active in the Wichita Area Builders Association. They lived in Valley Center and Wichita for many years before moving to Lake Wabaunsee.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Mize.

On May 30, 1964, Cheryl was united in marriage to Harold L. Warner, Jr.  He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Michael (Tracy) Warner, and their daughters, Hayden & Riley, Centennial, CO; a daughter, Jennifer (Boris) Kavlakov, Samammish, WA, and their daughters, Josie & Naya.

Cheryl’s wishes were to be cremated.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, at 1pm at the Lake Wabaunsee Fire House (23322 Kansas 99, Alma, Kansas 66401).  To leave online condolences go to www.piperfuneralhome.com.
