Christine Riat

Christine M. Riat-Thornburgh, 62, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Healthcare Resort of Topeka. She was born January 30, 1956 at Wamego, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Phyllis M. Prickett Riat. Christine was raised in the Belvue community and graduated from Wamego High School in 1974. Christine had worked in customer service. She had lived in Topeka since 1992. She was a member of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her father. Christine was united in marriage to Hubert L. Thornburgh. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Phyllis Riat, Belvue; her daughter, Erin Lane (her fiancé, Amin Salemi) Nashville, TN; three brothers, Michael Riat, and Gregory Riat both of Belvue and David Riat, Kansas City; her sister, Linda Shove Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Piper Funeral Home for Gregorian Masses or for a Memorial in Christine's name and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
