Eskridge-Dwayne F. Doty, 73, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at McCrite Plaza Health Center in Topeka. He was born July 3, 1940 at Topeka the son of Frank Victor and Nellie Grace Rouse Doty. Dwayne move to the Eskridge community at the age of three and was raised by Harold & Maxine McKnight. He graduated from Eskridge High School in 1958. Mr. Doty worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation and later in the Surplus Department. He was a truck driver for Frito Lay for 23 years before his retirement. Dwayne received the Million Mile Drivers Award and had logged over 1.7 million miles accident free. He had received many other Safety Driving awards during his career. He was a member of the Eskridge United Methodist Church and Eminence Lodge No. 205. Dwayne was an avid KU Fan. He coached girl's softball and men's softball for many years. He also enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball. He was a loving husband and father and was an outstanding grandfather and great-grandfather. Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Nellie Doty and by Harold and Maxine McKnight. On January 18, 1959 he was united in marriage to Norma Guilfoil at Eskridge. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Tom) Rasser, Scottsdale, AZ, and Cindy Lowe, Eskridge; a sister, Janice Droge, Topeka; his grandson, Corey (Meagan) Lowe, Maple Hill; and great-grandchildren Ashton and Haiden. Graveside services will be at 10: 30 A.M. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Eskridge Cemetery.
