St. Marys-Edward C. "Ed" Stoddard, 75 passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the St. Marys Manor. He was born December 23, 1942 at Belding, MI; the son of Ambrose C. and Maude P. Conkey Stoddard. Ed grew up in Belding and graduated from Belding High School in 1961 and entered the United States Air Force that fall. He served in Vietnam and later was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka and the Atlas E Missile Bases. After being discharged from the Air Force he attended and graduated from KSU with a degree in accounting. Ed was a Vice President and CFO for Mainline Printing in Topeka for over 20 years retiring in 2007. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Jessie Stoddard, brother George Stoddard, and step-sister, Deann Helmer. On Nov 23, 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary M. Seitz. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Jonathan (April) Stoddard, Wamego; his daughter, Larissa Stoddard, St. Marys; a sister, Marcia McCoy, Ionia, MI; three grandchildren, Logan, Brooklin and Ashlynn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. The family will receive friends after the rosary until 7:30 P.M. Interment with Military Honors will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made in Ed's name for replacing Memorial Day Flags at the local cemeteries as needed, and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
