St. Marys-Emil John Veselka, 99 years 4 months and 25 days passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home in St. Marys. Mr. Veselka was born April 16, 1915 at Fayetteville, TX, the son of Joseph and Mary Gajda Veselka. He worked as a diesel mechanic for the city of Houston for many years. Among local survivors are his daughter Mary Ann Bunel and her husband Andrew of Saint Marys. Daughter: Joyce (Leroy*deceased)Rybak of Hallettsville, Texas Son: Victor (Nancy) Veselka of Winter Park, Florida Grandchildren: Andrew Bunel, III of Nashville, TN Pamela(Kenneth)Brown, Brian (Jennifer) Bunel, Jason (Shanna) Bunel, Danielle Bunel all of Saint Marys, KS Chris (Edita) Rybak of Hallettsville, TX 20 Great-grandchildren He is survived by his brother George (Sue) Veselka of Houston, TX and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Veselka was pre-deceased by Albina, his wife of almost 50 years. Requiem Mass was at 7:00 A.M Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. Mr. Veselka will lie in state after 8:30 A.M. Saturday, September 20, 2014 and a Rosary will be recited at 9:30 A.M at the Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home (12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX.)
