Floyd Holz

Topeka-Floyd E. "Buzz" Holz, 69, loving Son, Brother , Uncle and Friend died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at a Topeka Hospital. Buzz was born August 14, 1948 at Topeka, the son of Paul G. and Mary E. Edwards Holz. Buzz grew up in the St. Marys community and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1967. He was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Vietnam War. Buzz was a tile setter. He lived in the St. Marys and Emmett communities until he moved to Topeka in 2002. Buzz was an avid Sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and collecting. Survivors include his two brothers, Mick Holz, Topeka and Paul Holz, St. Marys; two sisters, Linda Gregory, St. Marys and Tina Hensley, Mt. Vernon, IN; along with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-nephew Tegan Holz. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery, St. Marys. Buzz will lie in state and the family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
