Gloria K. Minnis, 65, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
She was born April 1, 1956, at Spokane, WA, the daughter of John and Carol Huxtable Lentis. She was raised in Omaha, NE and graduated from Omaha High School. Gloria graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha with a master's degree in education.
Gloria was a teacher at Primrose, NE then in the Junction City and Ft. Riley areas. She taught in Manhattan and at Shiner Elementary and Scott Magnet School in Topeka. Gloria was a para-professional at Silver Lake and was currently the activities coordinator at Rossville Health and Rehab Center in Rossville.
Gloria married Raymond R. Minnis in Ohio on April 23, 1983. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2021.
Survivors include her son, Russell Minnis, Rossville; her father, John Lentis (Darleen) in Florida; siblings, John Lentis, Janet Franks, Susan Thurman, Andrew Lentis and Pam Sorgen.
Mrs. Minnis chose cremation. A Celebration of Life service will be at 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Rossville Christian Church with inurnment to follow at the Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of the funeral home.
