Helen Lester

Helen M. Lester, 79, passed away, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her home in St. Marys.

She was born November 9, 1934 at Chicago, IL, the daughter of Leland and Helen Cox McCabe. Mrs. Lester grew up in Park Ridge, IL, and received her law degree from Loyola University.

Mrs. Lester was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leland J. McCabe Jr.

She was married to Ed Lester. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Thomas (Anne), Matthias (Sherri) and Tobias (Laura) Lester; three daughters, Sister Mary Alphonsus, Serra (David) Melechinsky and Mary Lee Lester; a brother, Edward McCabe along with 6 grandchildren.

Requiem Mass will be at 7:00 A.M.Monday, March 17, 2014 at Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. A Rosary will be recited at 6:20 P.M. Sunday at the church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Academy/College and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home
