Jaema Katherine Gomez, 68, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka surrounded by her family. She was born February 29, 1944 at Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of William and Alice Raaen Johnston. Mrs. Gomez lived in Aneta, ND, moving to Casa Grande, AZ, at an early age. She was married to John Floyd Gomez, Jr. and they shared 29 years of marriage. She and her husband owned and operated a gas station, a grocery store, and one of the largest ambulance services in Arizona. Mrs. Gomez was also involved in Real Estate and had been a LPN. She later moved to Atascadero, CA, where she lived for over 20 years before she moved to Louisiana, Oklahoma City, OK and Washington DC, moving to St. Marys in 2006. Jaema loved "I Love Lucy" and "Elvis". She was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande and St. William's Catholic Church in Atascadero and was currently a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Jaema was preceded in death by John Floyd Gomez, Jr. and by their unborn infant son. She was also preceded by her dearest cousin, Penny Aasen Reiter. Survivors include her children, John Floyd Gomez III, (Karen) Anna Louise Gomez-Stevens, Thomas Robert Gomez (Paula), Eric Leo Gomez, Alice Irene Bordelon (Chad), Victoria Katherine Bordelon (Dwight) and Nicholas George Gomez; 32 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5:00 P.M. Friday, December 14, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Inurnment will be at a later date in Louisiana.
