James Richard Waliser, 68, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born November 24, 1944 at Bismarck, ND, the son of Michael and Martina Mosset Waliser. Mr. Waliser served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Waliser was a rural mail carrier at Selfridge, ND, for many years and lived there until moving to St. Marys nearly 10 years ago. He was a member of Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ann Hoon. On June 2, 1973 he was united in marriage to Diane Blotske at Selfridge. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his children, Melissa Freeman, Emmett, Craig Waliser, Vacaville, CA, Theresa Runichm, Raleigh, NC, Dominic Waliser, McDonough, GA, Richard Waliser, Olathe, Bridget Waliser, Kansas City, MO, Luke Waliser, St. Marys, Joseph Waliser and Matthew Waliser both of the home; brothers, George Waliser, Bismarck, ND, Mike Waliser Jr, Bismarck, ND, Ronald Waliser, New Salem, ND, Joe Waliser, Piedmont, SD, Tony Waliser, Bismarck, ND, John Waliser, Lisbon, ND, and Bob Waliser, Selfridge, ND; sisters, Helen Holzer, Bismarck, ND, Mary Vollmuth, Sturgis, SD, Patricia Aldinger, Underwood, ND, Diane Waliser, Bismarck, ND, and Betty Waliser, Bismarck, ND; 13 grandchildren. Requiem Mass will be at 7:00 A.M. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. Interment will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Waliser will lie in state from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. There will be a Rosary recited at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, at Assumption Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Assumption Chapel and sent in care of the funeral home.
