Jara Lannan

Paxico-Jara D. Lannan, 72, died Monday, May 21, 2018 at her home in Paxico. Jara was the daughter of the late Charles A. Perry and Mildred G. and Ray Reasoner. She grew up in the Colby community and moved to Hill City. Jara attended KSU and Washburn University. She received an associate degree in Hotel & Hospitality Management. She was the City Clerk for the city of Paxico for over 20 years. Jara was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Newbury and was very active in the Paxico community. She enjoyed going to auctions, collecting antiques, marbles and Mickey Mouse items. Jara loved to travel and view all of Gods creations, visiting 42 of the lower 48 states. Her favorite place was Estes Park Colorado, where she felt closest to God. Jara liked the outdoors and fishing. She loved her children and most of all her grandchildren. Her contagious smile and laugh could turn a frown into a smile on anyone she met. On January 26, 1963 she was united in marriage to Charles T. Lannan Jr. in Newbury. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Charles M. (Kimberly) Lannan, Brighton, MO; Christopher M. Lannan, Topeka and Veronica (Angel) Craig Posch, Paxico; seven grandchildren, Lexie, Tyler, Thomas, Nathaniel, Trever, Kelsea and Jazlyn. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newbury. Private inurnment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until the rosary at 7:00 Thursday, May 24 at the church.
