John Bryan

St. Marys-John C. Bryan, 82, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at the St. Marys Manor.

He was born September 14, 1931 at Jacksonville, FL; the son of Talmadge Emory and Helen "Dolly" Johnson Bryan. Mr. Bryan graduated from the University of Florida and had lived all his life in Jacksonville until moving to St. Marys this past September.

Mr. Bryan was a CPA and owned and operated his own business. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Jacksonville and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. He was a member and past treasurer of the Southside Business Club in Jacksonville. Mr. Bryan was also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Gwen Boyles and a brother, Patrick Emory Bryan.

On September 30, 1961 he was united in marriage to Bessie Palmer at Jacksonville. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, John (Beth) Bryan, Conway, AR, James Bryan, Andrews, NC, and Joseph (Cecelia) Bryan, St. Marys; a sister, Juliette "Bill" Howard, Jacksonville, FL; 15 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M.Friday, January 17, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt.CalvaryCemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Bryan will lie in state after 6:00 P.M.Thursday, January 16, 2014 and a rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. all at Piper Funeral Home.
