John Thomas Dinneen, a devoted family man and respected professional, passed away on March 17, 2025, in St. Marys, Kansas, at the age of 100. Born on June 25, 1924, in Queens, New York, John lived a life marked by dedication and resilience. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, embodying the spirit of his generation.
John began a career that would span over four decades at Royal Globe Insurance Co. in New York City. He started as a clerk and demonstrated remarkable skill and work ethic, ultimately retiring as an Executive Manager for the Special Accounts Department in 1985. His career stands as a testament to his commitment to excellence and his role as a mentor to many. John was an avid golfer and loved watching professional golf.
On April 4, 1949, John married Mary Cavaliere in Brooklyn, New York. Their union was filled with love and together they navigated the adventures of life until her untimely passing on September 4, 1977. John cherished Mary and carried the memories of their time together throughout his life.
He is survived by his son, Richard (Bridget) Dinneen and daughter, Linda Dinneen. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Thomas Flippin, Jeanine Flippin, and Mary Dinneen, as well as his three great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Dinneen and his parents, John and Mary Dinneen.
John Thomas Dinneen will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family.
A rosary will be recited for John at 5:20 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at The Immaculata, 701 N. 2nd St. in St. Marys. A requiem Mass will be offered at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at the Immaculata Catholic Church, with burial following in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
