Maple Hill-Joseph E. "Joe" Tarbutton, 82, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at the St. Marys Manor. He was born June 21, 1933 at Maple Hill the son of Earl W. and Mildred Seitz Tarbutton. Joe graduated from Maple Hill High School and lived in the Maple Hill community nearly all of his life. Joe was a salesman for several different auto parts stores and had been a bookkeeper. He had worked at the Topeka V.A. Hospital where he met Donna D. Vanlandingham. They were united in marriage on July 24, 1954 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2014. Survivors include a son, Joe Dee Tarbutton, Maple Hill; two daughters, Vanessa (Jon) Paine and Kim (Randy) Wild, all of Maple Hill 7 grandchildren, Becky (Barry) Sandstrom, Jonny (Jennifer) Paine, Kristy (Phil) Lewis, Shannon (Wade) Heim, Randy (Beth) Wild, Mandy (Michael) Hammersmith and Aimee (Brandon) Mosley; 10 great-grandchildren, Junne, James, Parker, Brigham, Tinley, Madison, Kenadee, Kate, Cora and Mailey. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June2, 2015at the Maple Hill Community Congregational Church. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Mr. Tarbutton will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Church.
