Wamego-- Joyce "Scotty" Plott, 84 passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Onaga Health and Rehabilitation Center in Onaga. She was born April 5, 1933 at Alice, TX; the daughter of John and Ida Hedgcoth. Scotty graduated from Alice High School. She had lived in Texas many years before moving to the Wamego Community in 1999. Scotty was a sales associate for Dillard's Department Store in Corpus Christi, TX; and also in Manhattan, Kansas. She owned and operated the Mode O Day Clothing Store in Wamego for several years. Scotty was a woman full of life and spunk and was a true Southern Bell. She was united to Wayne Plott in Alice, TX. He preceded her in death in 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jonny and Jerry Hedgcoth; sisters, Jean White and Loeta Terrell. Scotty is survived by her daughter, Sue (Bill) Karnowski, Wamego; grandchildren, Kathy (Wayne) Kufahl and their children, Andrew, William and Elli, Wamego, Sandi Sievert, and her children Emma and Gracie, Wamego, Adam (Sara) Karnowski, and their children Darbi and Kolton, Knob Noster, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego. Mrs. Plott will lie in state starting at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the church where there will be a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. followed by a family visitation until 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Louisville.
