Lavina Barthuly

St. Marys-Lavina M. Barthuly, 83, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at the St. Marys Manor. She was born January 7, 1936 at Frankfort the daughter of Raymond and Selma Stelter Falk. Lavina grew up in the Onaga community and graduated from Onaga High School in 1954. She had lived in the St. Marys Community many years. Lavina worked for 23 years at the St. Marys Manor in various capacities. She was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. On June 7, 1991 she and Fred Barthuly were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2013. Survivors include her children, Beth (Marvin) Gideon, St. Marys, Wes Rezac, St. Marys and Joan (Scott) Hoch, Alta Vista; her bonus children, Ray (Ann) Barthuly, St. Marys, Dorothy (Jerry) Rappard, Topeka, Marilyn (Ron) Rose, Cold Water, MI. and Jane (Wade) Clemons, Phoenix, AZ; her sister Jean (Don) Boling, Holton; 5 grandchildren, numerous bonus grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several bonus great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the St. Marys United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, St. Marys. Lavina will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 24, 2019 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marys United Methodist Church or Great Lakes Hospice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
