Lorene Dorothy Kobett

Lorene Dorothy Kobett, born Lorene Dorothy Fisher on September 8, 1924, in Easton, MO, the daughter of John and Amelia (Knieb) Fisher passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023, in St. Marys, KS. 

Mrs. Kobett lived a full and vibrant life. After spending many years in California, she relocated to St. Joseph, MO.  After the death of her son she came to St. Marys to be closer to the children of her deceased sister Annalee Murphy.

Lorene married Lawrence James Kobett, he preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son Lawrence Jr.; two brothers Wilfred and Henry; and sisters Cecilia, Luella, Annalee, Regina, and Teresa. Although Lorene has passed on, her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving sister Marie Fisher and twenty nieces and nephews, and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Requiem Mass will be at 7:15 A.M. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Immaculata Church in St. Marys.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO at 11:30 A.M. Mrs. Kobett will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Monday, July 24, 2023, at Piper Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 5:20 P.M. Monday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made for masses.
