Louzetta Isabelle Mahan, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at her home in Rossville surrounded by family.
She was born October 19, 1939, in Biggar, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of James Roy and Margaret Glover Moore. Louzetta was raised in the Parker, Kansas community and graduated from Parker Rural High School in 1957.
Louzetta worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell. She was a secretary at the Rossville Grade School and the offices of Burns Hesse and Dennis Hall. Louzetta sold real estate and later worked for Peoples Insurance Company. She loved remodeling her home, enjoyed gardening and was a certified Master Gardener.
On March 16, 1958, Louzetta was united in marriage to Dale Paul Mahan in Yates Center. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2013. She was also preceded by her parents, a brother, Leon and a sister, Opal.
Survivors include her daughter Cherry Mahan, St. Marys; son, Robin (Sheri) Mahan, Manhattan; two sisters, Cherry Morgan Collins, Maple Hill, and Marcia K. Moore Collins, Rossville; two grandchildren Logan Mahan, Scottsdale, AZ and Matalyn,Mahan Denver, CO.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
