Lydia Remark, 81, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at her home in St. Marys. She was born April 16, 1935 at Chicago, IL, the daughter of Francisco and Maria Martinez. She was raised in Chicago. She lived in Germany where she met her husband Phillip B. Remark. Mrs. Remark was a secretary for an insurance company and later for the Department of Defense. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip B. Remark on December 31, 1997. Survivors include her son, Theodore B. Remark, St. Marys; her brother, Frank; two sisters Ann and May. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mrs. Remark will lie in state after 5:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2017 at Piper Funeral Home where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made for Masses and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home.
