Rose, a cherished soul and vibrant presence, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas. Born on December 22, 1961, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Rose lived a life full of love, creativity, and warm memories.
Rose was a graduate of Topeka High School. Post-high, she completed her CNA course-of-study, and was very proud of her accomplishment. In the nineties, she was employed in the cafeteria of Highland Park High School in Topeka.
Rose was known for her engaging personality. She always had a big smile when she saw you, and was known for her love of picnics, often savoring the delightful dishes prepared by her beloved Aunt Margie.
Rose’s artistic talent was evident in her hobbies; she loved to draw and create beautiful, beaded artworks, each piece reflecting her unique vision and sense of beauty. Outings often led her to the serene rose garden at Gage Park, where she found tranquility and inspiration among the blooms. Rose was kind to everyone and had a beautiful smile. She was a friend to many.
Rose is survived by her brother, Robert Howes; her niece, Serena Howes; sons Christopher and Michael; “Sis” Ann Marie Dobson, as well as many cousins in Kansas, and all over the country. Each of these individuals carries a piece of her spirit and will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Maureen (Pearl) Harris and Richard Howes, as well as her brothers, Kevin Howes and Michael Howes.
As we celebrate the life of Rose, let us remember her for her love of life, her artistic spirit, and her undeniable joy in the company of loved ones. Her memory will continue to inspire and bring smiles to those who were fortunate enough to know her.
