Mary Schiesser

Eskridge- Mary E. Schiesser, 92, of Emporia formerly of Eskridge passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Newman Regional Hospital in Emporia.

She was born July 2, 1921 at Towanda, the daughter of Ellis and Edna Eastman Mossman. She moved to the Eskridge community in 1925.

Mary and her husband "Ike" farmed northeast of Eskridge for many years before moving to Eskridge in 1988. She moved to Emporia several years ago. Mary was a past member of the Eveready Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eskridge UMW.

On December 24, 1942 Mary was united in marriage to Charles Ivan "Ike" Schiesser at Eskridge. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1990. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Frank Mossman and a sister, Doris Steege.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Casey) Schiesser, Emporia; a sister, Phyllis (Gary) Lyddane, Harveyville; three grandchildren, Kelly, Mindy and Gary David; 6 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M.Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the KeeneCemetery. Mrs. Schiesser will lie in state from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.Friday, August 23, 2013 at Piper Funeral Chapel of Eskridge.
