Myron D. Figge, 81, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Via Christi Village in Manhattan. He was born May 5, 1936 near Wheaton, the son of Fred William Figge Jr. and Lorna Teske Figge. He was raised in the Wheaton community and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1954. Myron entered the US Army on June 7, 1956 and served his country until October 8, 1962 Myron worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka for nearly 40 years. He had lived in Topeka, St. Marys and Wamego. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego. He had been a member of NRA and North America Elk Foundation. Myron was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and doing woodworking. On November 29, 1958 he was united in marriage to Karen G. Pressgrove at Wheaton. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Shirley, Fred (Cookie) Figge and Lyle Figge. Survivors include his sons, Rodney (Diane) Figge, Peyton CO., Roy Figge, Colorado Springs, CO., Robbie (Debbie) Figge and Rex (Sherry) Figge all of Wamego; a brother, Dale Figge, Westmoreland; a sister Judy Cutright, Topeka; 8 grandchildren and one great-grand-daughter. Myron will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2018 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego where there will be a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. followed by a lite meal. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Wamego Cemetery.
