Nellie Mauck

April 29, 1914 — February 17, 2014

Nellie N. Mauck, 99, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Rossville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 29, 1914 in a sod house at Forgan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter Scott and Julia Mae Spruill Kennedy. She graduated from Our Lady of The Plains High School at Dodge City.

Mrs. Mauck had lived in Silver Lake for many years. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Silver Lake and was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star.

On November 21, 1936 she was united in marriage to David Harper Mauck at Topeka. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Matthew Mauck in September of 2013.

Survivors include two sons, Jake "Doug" (Janice) Mauck, Topeka and Michael "Dave" Mauck, Kansas City; a daughter, Sue (Larry) Wichman, Emmett; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Silver Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Baptist Church of Silver Lake and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, St. Marys.
