Wamego- Patricia Ann "Pat" Breitkreutz, 77, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. She was born October 27, 1935 at Great Bend the daughter of William and Vernie Banks Murphy. She attended Great Bend Schools. Pat was a foreman for Locke Stove Company and lived many years in Kansas City, MO, and Cameron, MO. before moving to the Ellinwood community. She moved to St. Marys in 2002 and later to Wamego. Pat devoted her life to her family, often doing without so she could give to her children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat had a strong faith and was strong willed. She sent food to the local grade school each Friday so that children would have a meal over the weekend. She was a giver to many. Pat was a member of the Lutheran faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Earl, George, Jack, Jimmy and Verna; Pat was also preceded in death by a niece, Kim Schwartz and two brother-in-laws, Walt Murray and Leroy Krom. She was united in marriage to Marvin Breitkreutz on July 4, 1961 in Kansas City, MO, they later divorced. Survivors include a son, Jim (Courtney) Breitkreutz, Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Holly (Jeremy) Harwood, St. Marys; a sister, Mickey Murray, Great Bend; a sister-in-law, Willie Murphy, Farmington, NM; grandchildren, Larissa (Chris) Munson, Wamego, Alexis Patterson, Hutchinson, Kody Harwood, St. Marys and Zac Breitkreutz, Kansas City, MO; great grandchildren, Madix Munson, Izzy Cashman and Kayden Munson along with several nieces and nephews. Pat's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Memorial contributions may be made in Patricia's name to help offset funeral expenses and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
