Paul Lees

Paul A. Lees, 72, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his Paxico home.

On April 8, 1950, he was born the son of Charles “Buck” and Martha Lees.  Paul was raised in Kansas City, Kansas, where he attended school.  After high school, he entered the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam Conflict as a jet mechanic, both in Vietnam and Cambodia.  On December 11, 1973, he was honorably discharged.

Paul was a welder for the Union Pacific Railroad.  He was a member of Pheasants Forever, NRA, and the American Legion.

Paul was married to Lana Jones and Marilyn Lees-Linton.  He was preceded in death by a son, Jesse B. Lees, on September 10, 2021.

Survivors include his wife, B.J. Speck, of their home; two sons, Bud (Amanda) Lees, Willard and David Jones, Bowling Green, MO; a daughter, Amy McMillin, Bowling Green; MO; his sister, Diane Fittro, Kansas City; grandchildren, Abby, Alex, Allen, Cole, Dyllan, Jackson, Beaux, Brittany, Lil Bud, and Lily.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Willard Baptist Church, with visitation from 2:00 until the service.  Cremation will follow.  Memorial contributions may be made to DAV and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.  To leave online condolences, go to www.piperfuneralhome.com.
