Maple Hill-Peter Santo Scozzare, 64, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his home in Maple Hill. He was born December 27, 1951 at Staten Island, NY, the son of the late Peter and Jennie Amodeo Scozzare. Peter was a professional drummer and played in the band,

He was an Environmental Specialist. Peter was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill, KS. He was a devout Catholic and was consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Peter had a passion for cooking and loved woodworking and fishing. On November 24, 1973 he was united in marriage to Concetta "Connie" Donahue at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Tottenville, Staten Island, NY. She survives of the home. They had lived in Staten Island, New Jersey, Ohio and New York before moving to Maple Hill in 2015. Other survivors include his children: Peter Christopher, Steubenville, OH; Thomas Aquinas (Annie), Cheltenham, PA; Rev. Sister Maria Teresa Pia, F.I., Italy; Joseph Benjamin, Cheltenham, PA; Rev. Sister Maria Consolatrice Stefania, F.I., Italy; Charles Daniel (Margaret), Topeka, KS; Rev. Sister Maria Damiana Pia F.I., Italy and Sean Patrick (fiancée, Mariana Slobodnik) Scozzare, Lawrence, KS; his sister, Constance Cook, in NE; grandchildren, Francesca Madelena and Giovanna Lucia Scozzare; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. High Requiem Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Scozzare will lie in state and the family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until the Rosary at 7:00. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made for a Gregorian Mass for Mr. Scozzare and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
