Ramona Schindler

St. Marys-Ramona L. "Mona" Schindler, 52, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at her home. She was born September 27, 1963 at Topeka the daughter of Jim and Deanna Huntsman Gordon. Mona graduated from St. Marys High School and lived most of her life in the St. Marys community. Mona was a school bus driver and worked for USD No. 321 at the St. Marys Grade School for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Gordon. On August 1, 1987 she was united in marriage to Andy Schindler. Survivors include her mother, Deannie (Philip) Kovar, St. Marys; a son, Andrew Schindler, St. Marys; four daughters, Alanna (James) Anderson, St. Marys, Andrea Schindler, Everest; April (Adam) Ronsse and Annette Schindler all of St. Marys; two brothers, Les (Susan) Gordon, St. Marys and Alan (Tanya) Gordon, Topeka; a sister Rhonda Lenherr, St. Marys; two grandsons, Carter & Ryder and two granddaughters, Kristin and Kaylee. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Inurnment will be at a later date. Mona will lie in state from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the church where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mona's name and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
