Randall D. “Randy” Kemp, 64, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his home in Eskridge.
Randy was born April 17, 1957, in Topeka; he was the son of Dale M. and Hazel E. Sterrett Kemp. Randy graduated in 1975 from Mission Valley High School. His class was the first class that attended all four years at Mission Valley. He was a lifelong resident of Eskridge.
Randy was the manager of the Eskridge Lumber Yard and had worked there 41 years before his retirement. He served on the Wabaunsee County District No.5 Fire District for 44 years. Randy served on the Mission Valley School Board and on the Eskridge Cemetery Board. He was a member of Dover Lodge No. 138 AF/AM, where he had held many offices. He was a member of the Arab Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Richard Kemp.
Randy and Deanna Kemp were united in marriage on July 25, 1981 at the Harveyville United Methodist Church. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Tyler (Kerri) Kemp, Kyle, TX, and Drew (Kristi) Kemp, Eskridge; his sister, Ronda (Rex) Truelove, Hartford; his sister-in-law, Connie Kemp, Eskridge; Randy’s pride and joy, his two grandchildren, Tristin and Bronx.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Mission Valley Gymnasium. Inurnment will be in the Eskridge Cemetery. A Memorial Visitation will follow the graveside at Wabaunsee County Fire District No. 5 Lake Wabaunsee Station. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eskridge Park Foundation or Wabaunsee Fire District No. 5 and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
