Rex Reid

Rex G Reid, 88, of New Hope, AL., passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Tut Fann Veterans Home at Huntsville, AL.

He was born September 7, 1932, at Belvue, the son of Virgil and Rexie May Wyker Reid.

Mr. Reid retired from the United States Army.   He was a retired real estate agent.

Mr. Reid was well-loved by his family and friends and served as a Shriner. He was a veteran having served in the Korean War, where he was twice a P.O.W.

He was preceded in death by father, Virgil Reid; mother, Rexie May Reid; wife, Hermina Reid; son-in-law, Larry Stolz.

Surviving are wife, Jane Boozer-Reid; daughter, Andrea Stolz; 2 step-children, Eric Boozer and Rebecca Walks; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Wise, Harry Wise, Shannon Wheeler, Brandon Chang, and Chloe Robinson; great-grandchildren, Claire and Lyla Wise; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Piper Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery with Military Service conducted by Fort Riley.
