Rosa Reiners

St. Marys-Rosa M. "Rosie" Reiners passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 five days short of her 105th birthday. She was born July 13, 1910 in rural Wabaunsee County, Kansas the daughter of Conrad Beasterfeld II and Caroline Wille Beasterfeld. On September 6, 1930 she was united in marriage to Seibelt "Zeke" Reiners in Wamego. They celebrated 78 years of marriage before his death on December 18, 2008. She was also preceded in death by 7 brothers and one sister. The Reiners farmed and started a dairy business in the 50's. Rosie was driving the tractor while Zeke bucked bales when they were in their late 70's. In 1988 they moved into St Marys. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Wells Creek, where she was the church organist for many years. Survivors include her children, Loran (Virginia) Reiners, LeAnn (Bill) Brown and Wayne (Judy) Reiners all of St. Marys; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 13, 2015 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Belvue. Mrs. Reiners will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marys Senior Center or to the St. Marys Manor and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
