Russell Arand

Wamego-Russell N. Arand, 29, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.

He was born August 9, 1983 at Wamego, the son of Ronald L. and Silke A. Straub Arand. Russell grew up in the Wamego community and attended Wamego Schools.

Russell loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding his ATV's. He also loved to watch drag racing, cook and grow hot peppers in his garden. Russell wore out his CD of the Pott County Pork and Bean Band.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Norbert Straub and grandparents Lyle & Ruth Arand.

Survivors include his parents Ronald & Silke Straub Arand; brothers. Rob, Chris and Scott Arand; Grandmother Sigrid Straub; Aunts & Uncles, Larry Arand, Carolyn Arand, Bernard & Brenda Straub; a niece Elizabeth and a nephew, J.D.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M.Friday, May 24, 2013 at the GreenwoodCemetery, Belvue. Russell will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys.
