Sherry L. Holvorson

Sherry was born June 15, 1942, in Wamego, the daughter of Arthur and Lorene Uhlrig Holvorson.  She was raised in the St. Marys community and graduated from St. Marys High School.  She also graduated from Crum's Beauty School In Manhattan.

She owned and operated a beauty shop from her home.  Sherry worked for a newspaper in Manhattan, and for the St. Marys Star.

Sherry was an avid sports fan, especially of the Chiefs and K-state football, where she held season tickets for many years. She also enjoyed traveling, and visited Europe, Alaska, California, Colorado, and the Caribbean.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Holvorson.

She is survived by a niece, Lori Gill and a nephew, Dale Holvorson.

A Celebration of Life services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Piper Funeral Home.  Inurnment will be at a later date.  Everyone is encouraged to wear their KSU or Chiefs attire.
