Emmett, Kansas-Sidney J. Brownell, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 15, 2016. He was born in Clinton, MA. to the late Sidney W. and Marguerite (O'Malley) Brownell on February 28, 1934. He married Patricia Hamilton in Clinton on November 15, 1952. She survives. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Kevin (Cherie) Brownell, Emmett, Jacquelyn (Donald) Antczak, Pittsburgh, PA., and Keith (Terry) Brownell Bellefonte, PA; eight special grandchildren, (six grandsons and two granddaughters); 12 precious great-grandchildren, (three great-grandsons and nine great-granddaughters); many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Diane (Brownell) Gerjes, Chester, NH; a brother, John W. Brownell, Tuxedo, NY. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gerald and Richard and by his twin sister Peggy Oliver; A favorite uncle Raymond O'Malley and a special cousin, Philip O'Malley. He was a journeyman lineman and was a member of the I.B.E.W. for 58 years. He retired from Jeffrey Energy Center in 1999. Sidney enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and trips to the casinos. He was baptized into the Roman Catholic faith as an infant at St John the Evangelist Church in Clinton, MA. Per Mr. Brownell's wishes there was no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be given to Macular Degeneration Association, American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
