Therese Hoffman

Therese A. Hoffman, 50, St. Marys, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

She was born August 4, 1963 at Tempe, AZ, the daughter of Sylvester H. and Patricia McCarthy Cain. Therese grew up in Leonardtown, MD, and graduated from high school there in 1982.

Therese moved to St. Marys in 1986. She was employed as a home health aid. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother Keith David.

On December 26, 1995 Therese was united in marriage to Gregory Hoffman at St. Marys. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her son, Daniel of the home; brothers, Gerard (Debbie) Cain, Emmett and Kevin Cain, Leonardtown, MD; sisters, Mary (Kevin) Fifer, Belvue, Virginia (James) Bryan, Dickenson, TX, Sheila (Dennis) Kosmicki, St. Marys, Brenda (Tim) Sellbach, Stephens City, VA, and Aileen (Jason) Henderson, St. Marys.

Requiem Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill. Interment will be in Mt.CalvaryCemetery, St. Marys. Therese will lie in state after 2:00 P.M.Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Piper Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Therese Hoffman Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
