Vince Wiltz

St. Marys-Vincent G. Wiltz, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the St. Marys Manor. He was born November 3, 1925 in rural Nemaha County Kansas, the son of John and Helena (Christman) Wiltz. Vince served in the United States Army during WWII in the South Pacific and in Germany. He retired from the Kansas National Guard in Topeka. After his retirement, he and his wife Pat owned St. Marys Surplus Sales for many years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys and a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion at Rossville. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joe, Eddie, Bernard, Leo and Nicholas; a sister, Mary and a granddaughter, Lily. He was united in marriage to Maxine M. "Pat" Hulsing on January 17, 1951 at Sabetha. She survives of the home. Other survivors include 6 sons, David, Steve (Deana), Mike and significant other (Tammy) and Doug all of St. Marys, Dan (Tammy) and Don Wiltz all of Topeka; a daughter, Pat (George) Stewart, Columbia, MO; two sisters, Millie McElroy, Louisville, KY., and Cecilia Hudelson, Ashland City, TN; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Wiltz will lie in state from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, May 22, 2015 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M.
