Virginia Faye (Chance) McDougal, 83, Silver Lake, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Onaga Health and Rehab Center.
Virginia was born July 9, 1938, in Havensville, the daughter of Clifford and Ida Nancy (Arganbright) Chance. She was raised in the Havensville community and graduated from Havensville High School in 1956.
Virginia delivered the Topeka Capital-Journal for 26 years and had sold Avon for 38 years. She enjoyed croquet, taking long drives around Kansas, painting, sewing, and quilting.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Judy Ribelin.
Virginia was united in marriage to Lyle D. McDougal in her parents' home on June 21, 1958. Lyle survives at their home in Silver Lake.
Other survivors include three daughters, Debra (Michael) Spade, Holton, Rebecca (Rodney) Noble, Louisburg, and Lori McDougal, Silver Lake; three sisters, Nadine (Gale) McDougal, Onaga, Dorothy (Jim) Kluender, Lansing, and Mary (Lloyd) Ringel, Havensville; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Silver Lake Cemetery. Mrs. McDougal will lie in state, and the family will receive friends Monday, March 28, 2022, from 5:30 until 7:30 P.M. at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer & Dementia Association or Onaga Health and Rehab Center and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home.
