Wamego-William James "Bill" Figge, 59, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born January 8, 1955 at Onaga, the son of Carl R. and Leota Hildebrant Figge. Bill grew up in the St. Marys community and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1973. Bill had worked on oil rigs and was a truck driver. He had worked on several local farms. He was an electrician for Keating Electric and for B&W Electric. Bill attended the PACE Program at Midland Care. On July 30, 1980 he was united in marriage to Jean Glynn, they later divorced. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Figge. Bill is survived by two daughters, Kristen (Cpt. Alan) Bauerly, Tonganoxie and Alicia (B.J. Wilcox) Figge, Blue Rapids; his mother, Leota Figge, Wamego; two brothers, Bob (Sherilyn) Figge, Waco, TX, and David (Janet) Figge, St. Marys; three sisters, Mary O'Donnell, St. Marys, Eva (Fred) Burgoon, Wamego and Barbara (Lanny) Mullinix, Aurora, MO; five grandchildren, Matthew and Eliza Bauerly, Macy, Saige and Brock Wilcox; Many nieces and nephews. Family visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery, St. Marys.
