Maple Hill-William C. Parker, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
He was born October 9, 1927 at Micro, NC, the son of Rosker and Robeary Narron Parker. He grew up in Micro and attended school there. Mr. Parker served in the United States Army and later the United States Air Force.
William worked many years as a Quality Control Inspector for Excel Industry in Heston, and had lived in Sedgwick from 1971 until moving to Northeast Kansas in 1999. He had lived in Rossville, St. Marys and Maple Hill communities. Mr. Parker was a member of the St. John Vianney Latin Mass Community in Maple Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, W.E. Parker and Edwin Franklin Parker and also one sister, Sarah Thorne.
On February 14, 1953 he was united in marriage to Virginia Dick at McConnell AFB in Wichita. She survives of the home.
"Daddy Bill" is also survived by a son, Carl (Christine) Parker, Marktredwitz , Germany; four daughters, Brenda (Tom) Schoenecker, Benedict, Bonnie (Duane) Simon, Meriden, Jeanne (Russ) Morton, Wichita and Kathy (Ron) Juntikka, Atlantic Mine, MI; two brothers, Jess Parker, Birmingham, AL., and Robert Parker, Clayton, NC; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren
Requiem High Mass will be at 1:00 P.M.Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill. Mr. Parker will lie in state from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M.Friday, March 7, 2014 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the MapleHillCemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials for mass intentions are appreciated.Visits: 18
