Maple Hill—Wilma Arlene Bays, 81, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Midland Hospice House.
She was born January 28, 1940, at Cole Camp, MO., the daughter of Clarence B. and Georgia L. Morgan Brown. The family moved to Michigan in 1950 and then to Maple Hill in 1956.
Wilma helped her husband Ottilie in their Auto Garage in Maple Hill. She loved cooking and sewing, making many afghans. She was an Eastern Star member.
Wilma married Ottilie Clyde Bays in 1958. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Carolyn Ezell and Dona Lee.
Survivors include two daughters, Michele Anita Beattie, and Roxanna Jean Bays; a sister, Cella “Joyce” Figueroa; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and one on the way.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Maple Hill Community Congregational Church with inurnment to follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
